What You Need To Know About Money In Cuba Right Now

La Habana

This is what you need to know before you travel to Cuba now!

I'd like to share some tips about money with you.

Sounds good to you?

You should bring CASH. In Cuba CASH is king!

Make sure before you go to have enough CASH. More than you think you will need!

Arrange with your bank to provide small notes (5;10;20;50). Avoid 100s if it's possible...

Yes, you may bring USD, but I'd rather recommend € . It's the most convinient currency as long as it's the most demanded in the country.

Why CASH?

Because you will need it to pay meals, drinks, snacks, transport and all private services.

No need to change into local currency (CUP) unless you feel like or need to have some pocket money to spend.

Be awared that you don't need to always pay in local currency. Ask before hand if they accept USD or €.

The answer will be YEEES!

Want to know my last recommendation?

You should not forget to bring your money cards (credit or debit).

Make sure they have no connection to US banks (Call your bank to find out)

Why money card?

Cause you will need it to pay for meals, drinks excursions, hotel services, transfers all provided by government-owned businesses and hotels.

All the transactions on government-owned places are electronic.

Please, don't forget those two things.

It will help you avoid unwanted experiences over your trip to Cuba!
